What Really Matters
We're in playoff season for intramurals which means life is C-H-A-O-T-I-C. Shiloh often rushes straight from work to the field, swerving between lanes while trying to switch into shorts and then tie his shoelaces. I stress about getting Siena the proper doses of sleep and food before heading to a game and attempting to abandon her on the sidelines. Being on seven teams is not easy, especially when you're as competitive as the Sorbellos! But as we lose more and more of our games, and our schedule clears up, we're reminded of why we do what we do, and what it is that really matters. We love exercising. We love interacting with other teams and officials. We love playing with friends. We love playing as a family. Even though we're generally BFLs this season, my women's football team did pull off a victory, and both Men's and CoRec Softball have championships next week.

Kevin Keefer came out to watch Shiloh's semi-final softball game and hold "Buddha." She apparently didn't like the nickname. That or she didn't get the proper dosages pre-gametime. ;)

Last weekend Shiloh was the speaker at the UCD Athletes in Action retreat in San Jose, so I got to spend a lot of time in Atherton with my family. Siena was a good baby and slept for most of the car ride there.

When we arrived Mom and Dad were out working in the front yard. Mom stopped gardening for awhile to hold her favorite (only!) grand-baby and introduce her to Copper (again).

Dad was sleuthing several levels of meandering sprinkler systems and patching up any breaks.

Then we were off to one of our favorite dinner stops: CPK ASAP in the Stanford Shopping Center. There were some seriously deluxe play houses on display out front. Mmmm BBQ Chicken Pizza.

There's my favorite people again!

On Saturday Shiloh took off for the retreat ropes course/dinner/speaking engagement and we worked out in the yard some more. Katie alternated between listening-for-napping baby and holding-awake baby duties. Thanks, Kate!

TJ has been very patient in teaching me how to use my new camera since I got it for Christmas. He came over Saturday night with his flash kit: stand, umbrella, remote flash, and ball bunjee to show me how to use them when I get my own someday. (Cough, cough. My birthday is June 14th. Cough, cough.) He, Siena and Copper were my guinea pigs.

(Apparently Siena was hot.)

That's all for now. Bye!

Daddy's Baby

Mothers!
This year was my first "real" Mother's Day because Siena made it safely out of the womb 8 months ago! Now she weights 20.5 lbs and is about 29 inches LONG. Because this was my first year to be celebrated, we set some precedents/traditions that will hopefully be continued for many, many years. Shiloh's "love language" isn't gift-giving, so rather than burden him with the task of finding me just what I want, he agreed to do "whatever I wanted to do." Awesome.
We began with a trip to Starbucks and Fluffy's Donuts before church. Siena has learned to drink from a straw pretty effectively and recognizes a starbucks ice water from meters away. She's her mama's baby.

Then we loaded Siena into the bike trailer and biked to church. Siena wore her new sunglasses and hat, courtesy of great-aunt Carole's Hanna Andersson gift card!

Then we had a fabulous BBQ at the Armstrong's place in Orchard Park. What a day!
The family.

Bethany, slaving away to make a tasty meal for all. What a servant she is!

Bethany's high school friend, Angela, came by for a little while.

Siena got love from all around. Bethany, Poppy, Daddy...

Zekers got some of his own attention. From Grammy...

...and from Uncle Shi - his first time ever holding Zeke!

Until Luke woke up from his nap, the men (and Sarah) played Bocce.

And then Luke woke up. He took some time un-grumpifying, helped by Poppy.

And then he became Luke the Entertainer, once again. (Here rejoicing at hitting the ball, so patiently pitched by Richie over... and over... and over, until he struck.)

A family portrait to end with.

And our cute little lovebug.

Contagious Laughter
Last weekend we had a fun time with Peter and Katy Nelson (old Athletes In Action friends) and their son Riley. They came up for the UCD Intramural Whiffleball Tournament but it ended up being rained out. Instead of defending our titles, we lazed the weekend away. It was wonderful.
Siena and Riley are getting to know each other with thier daddies as chaperones.
*I've been playing with photo editing the last few days, so pardon their funkiness. :)

We spent a few hours on Saturday at one of my favorite locations: Starbucks.

Katy and her big cutie. Later gator.

The boy himself. He could be a good match for Siena because, being the big girl that she is, Riley still manages to make her feel small. (2 weeks younger, but 3 pounds heavier - Katy is doing something right!)

Showing off my new haircut when we went to dinner at the Smiths'.

Cutest baby on the block!
Laugh attack. Couldn't resist posting this one. :)
"Goo"ing.
